The best dads put in the EFFORT!

Yvette and I had the opportunity to tour the Dallas Mavericks practice facility this fall. Mark Cuban, owner of the team, had this quote posted on the wall.

This single sentence says so much. So many things are out of our control, but the one thing we control is our effort. Some people have great ideas, many people talk, but the people who actually put in the effort, make it happen. Our effort is the one thing we can control. No one can take that away from us.

Last week, Luka Doncic had a historic performance, scoring the most points in a NBA game in Mexico City while scoring a triple double with 41 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. With the utmost humility and a ton of effort, he is looking at a MVP season.

This past Saturday, we watched Dallas play the Miami Heat. Luka went down with an ankle sprain within the first two minutes and left the game. Reports this week shared that after his x-ray was clear, he was in the water tank exercising the ankle during the second half of the game. We all hope for his return after Christmas. Effort is all within our control.

This is my challenge...put in the effort, do the work, make it happen.
