The best dads find time to pray.

It's the first full week of Lent and prayer is one of the three things I focus on. Prayer can be intimidating for many and easily skipped during the busy day. I used to only pray at dinner time, during mass on the weekend, or when I needed something. I missed an opportunity.

Every day, take the opportunity to talk to God, and build that relationship. We always think of God when we need something, but I would encourage you to start with thanking him.
Despite the stress, life's challenges, and all things that we don't control...look for things that you are grateful for each day. This can be as simple as a beautiful sunrise, a walk with the dog, another day to do great things in His name, my health, my spouse's happiness, my kid's accomplishments. A prayer can be as simple as "Hello, God". He knows you, the good and the bad, and is always waiting to hear from you.
Don't miss the opportunity to model this behavior for your kids. You are the spiritual leader in your household, make sure you include them. The earlier the age, the better.
