The best dads know when to Let Them.

Before visiting relatives for the holidays, a book titled The Let Them Theory was recommended to me. I hadn't realized that Mel Robbins is making waves on the Internet with this concept. As noted by the Wall Street Journal and TIME magazine, she's a NY Times best-selling author and a podcaster with billions of views, who inspires listeners worldwide to believe in themselves. It's definitely a must-read or listen.

The book, co-authored by her daughter Sawyer Robbins, is the best-selling book of 2025, with over 8 million copies sold in the first eleven months, and is on track to be the most successful nonfiction book launch ever. It is a masterpiece on Let Them, which emphasizes allowing others the freedom to be themselves, think independently, and act as they choose. Additionally, it introduces the concept of Let Me, encouraging individuals to concentrate on their own responses and actions, taking responsibility for what they can control.

They are nearing the conclusion of their Let Them Tour 2026. Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the Dallas event. It was an intimate gathering of 6,000 people, where Mel and Sawyer shared their personal insights and the genuine journey they went through while writing the book. It took nearly a year and eleven versions of the book to evolve the Let Them theory. Throughout this process, they used the framework to re-establish their bond as mother and daughter.

You might be familiar with her acclaimed https://www.melrobbins.com/podcast/, but this event was entirely different from the podcast. They recounted their journey and reflected on significant memories, both positive and negative, highs and lows that shaped their lives. It was unfiltered; it was genuine; and they engaged with the audience in an incredibly profound way.

If you haven't had the opportunity to listen to Mel, I highly suggest doing so. The Let Them Theory offers an excellent approach to managing your key relationships, whether with your spouse, family, close friends, or even colleagues. You won't be let down.
