The best dads prioritize family.

Rory McIlroy won his second green jacket at Augusta this weekend and he had to be resilient to pull out the win. The comments he made after Friday's round stuck with me the most. He shared that he would drop off his daughter, Poppy, at school, hop on a plane to Augusta, play a round of golf, and fly back home to make it home in time for dinner.

Most of us don't have the discretionary income to make that happen, but I loved the creativity. How can I do my job while still spending time with my family and not disrupt their schedule. It is a great question for all of us, how do you prioritize family?
This reminded me of an earlier point in my career when the president of a business unit mentioned he had a meeting that would cause him to miss his son's baseball game. He made a decision but later regretted it. Nearly twenty years had passed, yet he recalled it as if it happened yesterday. It served as a reminder to everyone present that family is important and you can't recreate those moments.
