The best dads create a BUDGET!

I was looking for a budgeting tool and was introduced to Dave Ramsey. I was given the books: The Total Money Makeover and Smart Money Smart Kids.

I couldn't put the books down and discovered a number of things:

• The stories I grew up with about debt, credit cards and student loans are all myths

• A budget is your plan for financial success

• You need an Emergency Fund

• Regardless of income level or the amount of debt you find yourself in today, you can become a millionaire by the time you retire

I have since shared The Total Money Makeover with family and friends. I found I had done many things right, but I also discovered some opportunities for improvement. Yvette and I now have a budget and we prioritize the things that are important to us.
