The best dads MAKE THEIR BED!

In the words of legendary Naval Admiral William McRaven, who has commanded at every level within the Special Operations community, including activity as head of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) during the Osama bin Laden raid, during his University of Texas at Austin, commencement speech.

"If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. By the end of the day, that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that little things in life matter."

I made my bed from high school until I got married in my early 30's. After reading this quote, I realized I have been letting my wife make our bed for a number of years now, but I am now sharing in the responsibility. I have also taught my boys to make their bed to begin their day. My oldest son has been on board for some time but I am still working with my fourth grader.
